# How price and stock auto-sync works

Auto-sync keeps your Shopify product prices and availability aligned with eBay automatically, so you don't have to check products by hand.

## What gets synced

* **Price** — when the eBay price changes, the app updates the Shopify price and re-applies your [markup](/wilcode-apps/ebay-importer-app/how-to/set-up-pricing-and-markup.md) to the new value.
* **Availability** — when a product goes in or out of stock on eBay, the app updates its availability in your store.

You can enable price sync, stock sync, or both — at the store level, and per product or per variant.

## The 200 products per day limit

Auto-sync updates up to **200 products** within each 24-hour cycle. If your store has more products than that, the remaining ones are queued for the next sync cycle and processed in **import order**.<br>

The limit counts **products**, not variants. A single product can have any number of variants — all of them sync together without using extra allowance.

## How stock is read

The app does **not** track exact stock quantities from eBay. It only reads the **availability status** — whether a product is in stock or out of stock.

When a product is out of stock on eBay and stock sync is on, the app marks it as unavailable in your store (it turns off **Continue selling when out of stock**).

When the product returns to stock on eBay, it becomes available again automatically.

**IMPORTANT**

If **Track quantity** is turned off, the app won't be able to keep the product's availability in sync with eBay. Price updates will still work as expected, but the **Sold out** status may no longer be accurate
